Considering the magnitude of the quate, If I had a quate of that magnitude, my beeber would surely be stuned.

My thinking as well, but you could have posted this thought on one of the threads that concern the sub.
These types of intuitive vanities are not usually allowed in this format, even for a old member.

I had the net browser open twice (done that before) and did not see your #24. I think the poster may be legit, just not familar with FR.
The screen name - criedmyselfblind - may have something to say in itself. Maybe a crew member's kin.....

Welcome to FreeRepublic.com. Here is some info that may help you to get oriented to FR:
Here is a link. Go to post #116 first (link should take you right to that post), and look under "Pictures". That will give a walk-thru for picture posting. That article gives a lot of very useful and helpful tips on HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), which you need to post on FR. There are other related links and information there as well.

You might want to bookmark that article. Bookmarking puts an article on your FReeper Profile page for quick and easy referencing. See post #53 & 59 for bookmarking instructions.
If you have any questions or problems, feel free to send me a Freep mail or a note and well work through it.

Im thinking we just had a mssive earthquake withitn the region of said accident, the submarine was Probably on patrol for the area considering the massive amount of foreign aid coming thru (and US support as well). Considering the magnitude of the quake, its highly possible the mapping of the region could be a bit off, shifts happen all the time im sure there 5 ft hill couldnt have turned into a 30ft mountain....*******************
Wow. Viking Kitty time!

Cried...
The quake was actually quite far from the crash site, and any shift that took place would have been minimal in that part of the ocean. As far as dimensions go, we're talking about a seamount rising possibly a few thousand feet from the bottom to within a hudred feet of the surface, and the sub hitting it at a depth of 525 feet. Given the charting of that area, it is quite possible that it had never been detected before, and if the sub had been just 50 feet to the right of her course, we would still not know about it.
