I know the 2008 election is a while away and anything could happen, but if things were the same as the polls right now and it was between McCain and Giuliani, who would you choose? I would choose Giuliani because they're both modereate, but Giuliani's more loyal. McCain would appease the democrats and would be painted as crazy.
I can't imagine that could happen. Most of us in AZ despise the man...but no one will run against him. I've never voted for him. Plus he has health issues. Not as important for a "Vice" but very important for a President.
"The candidates are:
1. A turd sandwich
2. A giant douche"
Which one is Rudy and which one is McCain?
McCain is an egotistical jerk
McCain is an egotistical jerk
My dem' brother shuddered in fear when I mentioned Rudy may be a candidate.
Between McCain and Rudy? Easy Rudy.
Also, whoever the GOP nominee is in 2008, I'll vote for them. All of you who are going to stay home or vote third party if a moderate is nominated might as well vote for the Dim candidate. It's has the same effect.
I'm with you......Condi!
My preference would be Condi.
Hahaha.....you're kidding, right?
I would NEVER vote for McCain.
He'd also take the typically liberal stronghold of NY and is a good media darling.
But that being said I want Condi, Frist or Liddy Dole.
Arnold/Condi 2008
In a primary a wide assortment of candidates run. The goal should be to seek a person of character, as conservative as possible, while keeping an eye on whether they have the ability to inspire the passions of the electorate to rally around him/her.
I doubt Rudy would win the primary, simply because I believe we have a wider stable of talent that can meet the above criteria. If Republicans chose Rudy, I could live with it because he is strong on defense and no fan of the MSM.
I draw the line at an opportunist such as McCain. He sides with the MSM over the Republican Party. He sides with Dems over Republicans. He would marginalize the conservative element fracturing the party. I will not vote for opportunists whether they be Mccain, Hagel or even Newt. Isn't going to happen.
Neither.
NOTA
Rudy. He's been an in an executive position and literally presided over the transformation of this city from a craphole to a rather liveable, safe big city. He clearly stated his principles and objectives, and despite hectoring from the left, he oversaw the changes here.
He was mocked and trashed for insisting that petty crimes (things like turnstile jumping and graffiti) were punished, and not let slide by as had been done in the past. His belief was that if you crack down on the small stuff, you'll discourage most of the worse stuff. Letting small stuff emboldens them to do more, but he cracked down and made a difference.
He's also incredibly fair and incorruptible.
And after 9/11, I'd practically crawl over broken glass to work for any campaign that he might choose to wage.
Nope. Quite serious actually. I like Rudy as well, but I'm not so sure he's going to go ever well with social conservatives once all the dirty laundry is aired.
