I know the 2008 election is a while away and anything could happen, but if things were the same as the polls right now and it was between McCain and Giuliani, who would you choose? I would choose Giuliani because they're both modereate, but Giuliani's more loyal. McCain would appease the democrats and would be painted as crazy.
I had to post that photo in order to shock you back to reality, Dan.
As for Rudy, he's been building his credibility with lots of campaigning, public appearances and the like. He wants a future in this party and realized that he can't be the maverick who endorsed Cuomo's re-election in 1994 (and later said he only did that because he thought Cuomo was going to win anyway and he didn't want him to take it out on NYC).
He also cut taxes -- especially business taxes, making it possible for companies to move here, whereas his predecessors drove them all out of here.
I totally agree! Rudy would be a great choice. Some people might disagree with some of his policys but you are never going to please everybody. After 9/11, America fell in love with Rudy and I believe he is totally electable. I don't think he would put up with the vote fraud either.
He also told that Saudi Arabian Prince to keep his money after 9/11 after he bad mouthed America. Now that is guts and standing up for America!
Hiel Hitlary!
Giuliani
George Allen
That was a truly wonderful moment -- especially in contrast to Clintigula, who was waddling around midtown Manhattan, stopping strangers to tell them how he really, really, really -- and he did mean REALLY -- tried to "get" UBL. A true hero and a zero.
I was so proud when Rudy told him in so many words that he had to decline his offer.
Giuliani...I can't stomach that RINO McCain.
I was especially proud when he told the putz WHY. It was a kind of "shove it up your robes" moment. :D
Constitution Party. Never vote Republican again. If the Republicans do something this stupid, then it is obvious they have no chance of ever learning any lessons from the conservative base nor listen to the conservative base. So they do not deserve my support (votes/money).
You know folks laugh that RINO's are an endangered species, but you probably say that poll that more than half of the GOP voters would vote for Guiliani or McCain in 2008 in a primary. Sure it is early, and a name recognition thing, but I think it does show that GOP politics is more complex than one would get a feel of from this neighborhood. The message is that we need to get along with each other to survive as an effective political force to the extent we can.
No you don't have to strong arm them but you don't need to lay down for them either.
I got disgusted with Frist when those memos about how to block Bush's judge nominees was found on those shared computers and some of the stuff they were going to do was illegal and Frist didn't push it. He let the story become about the Republican who found the memos. They accused him of stealing Democrat documents and Frist never set the record straight about that. He had the Rats where we wanted them and he let them slip away unscathed.
Any democrat will win if either of these two are forced down our necks.
I would sit out my first election.
Yes it was. A rare moment indeed.
AMEN. If we don't we are sunk. Plain and simple.
I vote for the Republican in almost every case, RINO or conservative in the elections. You know how I vote in primaries. But I won't send money to Republicans who hold what I consider to be positions beyond the pale on certain issues. I explained this to my Congressman on the phone one day. He was shocked when I called him an extremist for voting against a ban on PBA but we parted company amiably.
