Brad Pitt is set to play gunslinger Jesse James in a western.
Variety reports Andrew Dominik will direct the movie, which is based on Robert Hansen's novel 'The Assassination of Jesse James.'
Hansen recreates the real West with his imaginative telling of the life of the most famous outlaw of all time, and his supposed death at the hands of the upstart Robert Ford.
James holds sway over a ragged gang who fear his quick shooting and temper.
Robert Ford, a young gang member torn between worshipping Jesse and taking his place, guns him down in cold blood and lives out his days tormented by the killing.
The book was picked up last year as a co-production between Scott Free, Academy Award winging partners Ridley and Tony Scott and the Brad Grey, Aniston/Pitt owned Plan B. However, there are matters to be resolved with Gray joining Paramount and Pitt seperating from his wife Jennifer Aniston.

Thanks for considering our eyes, but you say there are worse pics? Now I'm intrigued :o
Well there is that freaky Star Trek character he played when he was a kid. I saw that and my stomach did a few flips.
Did he have to wear make-up? (lol)
*guffaw*
LOL! He does sort of have 19th-century teeth! Reminds of Billy the Kid, a little.
He was probably offered the part and passed..
