Another shameless vanity

Posted on 01/26/2005 12:26:46 PM PST by Free and Armed

Any college students/alumni freepers that use the online directory facebook? Apparently a lot of friends I graduated with in high school and current friends in college have gotten into that fad which I only discovered recently. Just curious to see how many folks on here use it. And yes, I'll admit to having joined it recently. My profile picture is the one where I'm holding my AK-47 of justice. I'm not free and armed for nothing, you know.

Apparently it's been popular for a while, but I only caught onto it recently. It's just an online directory for college students nationwide where you can put up a picture of yourself, random information about your interests, what you're studying in school, that sort of thing. And you can add people you know to a friends list, where you and other registered members can view their profiles. You can message people on it kinda like an email system. I think its sorta neat, as I've been able to find old high school friends with it and regain contact with them. That's the whole point, to stay in contact with college friends who aren't at your school or have graduated, or to meet new people from your school. It's fun to mess around with if you're bored.

In order to even view the page, you have to register. No thank you.

We called those Year Books and you didn't even have to down load them, just keep them on a shelf in the closet.

If you are away at college and are bored, then you either are not at a good school or you don't have a clue.

Thanks for the info. This sounds like it might have applications for professionals as well.
