They are going to delay by having hourlong speeches! Boxer and Byrd are the ringleaders! I don't have a link to any particular story because it was just mentioned by Judy Woodruff. Did anyone else hear this?

I saw that. Meanwhile CNN was busy reassuring folks that while Sec. Powell has literally left the building, he's still in charge at Foggy Bottom until Dr. Rice is confirmed. Doesn't that make everyone feel better?

$##!@$@#$#%$#%^^$#!@

All I can say is God help the Dems, especially if AQ tries anything.

Par for their course. Read that they've already delayed the AG vote on Alberto Gonzales for a week...with The Swimmer claiming that he failed to answer all their questions...

Good!  I hope they do.  Let America see what the D party is all about!  The idea of a 'nigra woman' as Secretary of State must have steam rising from the holes in Byrd's white conical hat.

They are trying to delay her confirmation. This is disgraceful and the American people will see them for what they truly are!

Not steam - its horns rising from his hat! And a nice pointed tail!

Good, the more they're seen the better.

They will do more to destroy the democrat party than any Republican could.

Can anyone explain what the political objectives of Boxer and Kerry are in attacking a woman who many black parents hope their daughters will adopt as a role model instead of some rapper's blinky blinky?

Boxer is awfully jealous of Dr. Rice, isn't she?

"The Dems have a political death wish. "

Then maybe this would be a good opportunity to oblige them by exercising the nuclear option.

Works for me. Interstingly enough, I haven't heard another peep about this on the boob tube. I wonder if saner heads have prevailed.

Boxer is motivated by the DUers and their leftist base who praised her and sent her flowers over her vote on the Election Results. And that was AFTER they protested in front of her office and sent her so many e-mails telling her to do so. So she now thinks she's Queen of the ultra liberals. Kerry has to make amends because the Leftists were pissed at him for going to the Middle East when he should have been here contesting the election. They were livid at him. Now he's playing nicy nicey after the Leftists from DU sent tons of nasty little e-mails to his office. Believe me those two need to do what the DUers want or they are toast

I was thinking the same thing. And the real bonus would be that by doing so, it would also free up the logjam in judicial confirmations. I wonder if the D's have considered that....

It would be a foolish thing to do.
But, so was contesting Ohio's electoral votes
Hard to say they wouldn't do something like this after that.

"Boxer is awfully jealous..."

One thing is certain; we don't refer to her as, "Dr. Boxer."
