It's pronounced lawn GUY land. And yes, I grew up here, but am originally from Illinois, and consider myself a midwesterner, since everyone here talks funny.
I was born in Lawn GUY land....lived there until I was about 8, when we moved to Southern California, where they tawked funny! : )
