"Maybe after I earn my black belt."

Not sure how that relates? I applied for Survivor about two years ago. I think the reason I didn't get picked is because I submitted my video toward the end of the application period. They don't bring in that many people to start with, so I'm sure that once they meet their quota they quit looking at videos.

Anyway, I was a brown belt when I applied (have recently earned my sho dan). I kept thinking it would be fun to practice kata in slow motion -- sort of like tai chi -- in the mornings if had made it to survivor. Taking a month off to do four or five katas every morning would not have been a bad thing for my karate.

Regardless, enjoy your journey. It is a very worthy goal that few people ever experience.

My black belt is the priority in my life right now. I've been working toward it for 2.5 years, and it is within my grasp! Jan 06. So I don't want anything to interfere with it- even a side trip to Survivor.
