Here's the survivor update I was telling you about. Post #620 is the update of last week's show.
Nice summary, as always, cuz. :)
I bet everyone remembers the moment that Amber fell in love with Rob. It was when she watched him take charge and build the shelter. I thought of that when I read the following:

"Hold The Quiche, Manly Men Are Back"
The Koror Tribe: Caryn, Coby, Gregg, Ian, Janu, Jennifer, Katie, Tom
The Ulong Tribe: Bobby Jon, Stephenie
The Losers: Angie, Ashlee, Ibrehem, James, Jeff, Jolanda, Jonathan, Kim, Wanda, Willard
Greetings fellow Survivor junkies! Its time once again for your weekly:
According to a compilation of the official SeeBS Website, the promo vidcaps for episode 8 and the various spoiler websites, the following is what we can expect to see tonight.
Tonights episode is titled: Neanderthal Man
A Survivor becomes irritated with the tribe's living conditions and lack of maintenance around camp, which has attracted unwelcome visitors. Since we all know that Koror has been overrun with rats since the beginning, its a safe bet that the camp is Koror and the irritated person is Korors very own bellyacher, Caryn.
Several weeks surviving on an island has driven one Survivor to exhibit unruly behavior, much to the concern of a tribemate. Hence the title of the episode Neanderthal Man. Who do we have left that could be exhibiting Neanderthal tendencies? Well lets see, we have Bobby Jon over at Ulong. (possibly) And over at Koror we have Tom (doubtful), Ian (again doubtful), Gregg (possibly), and Coby (a poofter exhibiting Neanderthal tendencies? Gimme a break! About the only unruly behavior this fairy would exhibit would be if he broke a fingernail!) So its either Bobby Jon or Gregg. And then it would follow that the concerned tribemate would be either Stephanie or Jenn.
The Survivors get a chance to sample a Palauan delicacy, which can be rather difficult to swallow. Who has the will to stomach this indigenous cuisine? What we have here is the old tried and true Gross Food challenge. Even though we have two mal-nourished, underfed, i.e. starving players at Ulong, and two well-fed, living it up, nice and easy players from Koror (pick any two, it really doesnt matter), Im gonna say that Koror snarfs down the Gross Food and wins Reward. Which brings us to the next point.
Two Survivors disagree on how the tribe should enjoy their Reward, leaving one of them feeling defeated and annoyed with the final decision. Tom and Coby are the disagreeing duo and Tom wins. This leaves Coby on the outs not only with Tom but with the rest of the tribe as well. In fact, I'm gonna go as far as make the following prediction: (and remember folks, Ya heard it here first!)
Next week, Coby will become the first member of the Jury!
This is the show that the spoiler websites have been buzzing about almost since the first episode. Ulong looses immunity yet again and at tribal council we see a first. Since Steph can only vote for Bobby Jon and vice versa this would result in an unbreakable tie. Jeff then resorts to yet another challenge with the looser getting the boot. Now some of the spoiler sites claim that the challenge will be a Q&A type challenge while come claim that the challenge will be a Build a better fire type challenge. All the spoiler sites claim to have unimpeachable sources. We will see how it works out.
But on a side note, the official SeeBS video promos show Ian making a comment to Tom about their alliance of himself, Tom, Katie and Stephenie! This is the same video promo showing Coby with a shocked look on his face. This tells me that Stephenie is the sole Ulong survivor which means that Bobby Jon gets the boot tonight.
Stephenie then spends one more night, all alone, back at Ulongs camp. Next week, the show will probably open with Jeff moving Steph from Ulong beach to Koror beach and informing one and all that from this point on all Immunity challenges will be for individual immunity. Call this a merge if you want. But I doubt if they will get new color buffs. Well, there you have it:
Take care,
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up,
totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming....
Wow, what a ride!"
Freepmail me if you want added to or removed from the Survivor Ping List!
"Hold The Quiche, Manly Men Are Back"
Being a manly man, I'm all for that. But in the case of Rob and Amber exactly where does the manly dumb@ss come into play?
Oh my goodness! The least "dumb@ass" guy I've seen in ages, on television, (or in real life), is Rob. Talk about manly carpenter skills and mechanical genius (exhibited on Amazing Race), he's a bold risk taker, with an extraordinary ability to read people, use them if he must, not to mention his very appealing charm and devotion to "his girl". I'm no expert, but I haven't seen him make a dumb move yet. Give the guy a mission and he will complete it, with stunning street smarts, and "can do" attitude. Hubba hubba!
You must have watched a different show. "Please, please, protect Ambwer. Please . . . . . . And then I'll stab you in the back."
Yeah, great guy.
No, Lee'sGhost, you must have watched a different show. Rob was always totally loyal to Amber, they're engaged, and they're adorable. And I'm not about to make fun of Rob's Boston accent, so sick I am of people judging southerners who share my southern accent.
(But isn't this a hoot? Arguing over a tv reality show! LOL)
"Now now children, Don't fight!"
It's her fault!
"Rob was always totally loyal to Amber,"
No, no. I'm talking about his interaction with OTHER players, especially the tattoo guy who he screwed over royal. But I do fully expect Amber to have a moment of enlightenment during the Amazing Race thing and she realizes she has hooked up with a real dip. Then they can be on yet another new reality show -- Divorce American Style.
Oh, and I wasn't making fun of his Boston accent, I was making fun of his inability to say Amber's name without sounding like Elmer Fudd. Now, Elmer may well be from Boston, but making fun of Boston accents was NOT my intention.
Ever since Rob found him a girl, he's been looking good to me. He's taken care of his gal.
I loved it on Amazing Race when they did the zip line. The gay boy on the mother son team was such a girl, and then you had Rob going done that line like a real man!
I didn't like Rob the first time he was on Survivor. I started liking him on the second survivor because he competed. He built the shelter and did great in the challenges. Now on Amazing Race, I really like the way he treats Amber. I think he's probably an okay guy, and he's certainly a manly man.
Sorry cuz..this week you're all wet...The promo showing Stephanie in an alliance issa "false flag"...almost to easy to spot..therefore it's neither, and that means Ulong wins, and a Kororian gets the boot..see you, Janu...
And here we are discussing Rob again. What fun!
I fully agree with your glowing description. But he has more than street smarts. His bio at Survivor All-Stars says he went to a fine private high school and has a B.A. in psychology from Boston University. He plays people really really well, a joy to behold. The guy's a winner. Besides, his looks are just amazing. Find me one like him, a few decades older, please!
You make great sense, cuz, let's see how it plays out. Bobby Jon does seem to have regressed from Tarzan to Neanderthal, but don't forget there were Neanderthal women, too. Could that mean Steph?
The Museum of Natural History in Chicago put out a postcard of a hulking, hairy Neanderthal mom tenderly holding her hulking hairy baby....my kids taped it to the refrigerator and we giggled for years.
I'd rather hate to see Bobby Jon go. Or Steph. Wish they could gather the tribes and vote out Caryn.
My husband also likes Boston Rob because he is a real man's man. He is not a wimp. My husband is very tired of wimpy men on TV, the metrosexual men (and so am I).
Then my husband always adds that Amber is "slamming" (that's a quote from Boston Rob describing Amber in All-Stars).
I'm enjoying them. I'll watch their wedding on TV. I was reading an article about what they have in mind, and the wedding actually sounds nice. Amber says she wants it on the beach and casual. If everyone wants to go barefoot, that's okay with her. She doesn't want the guys in tuxes. It sounds like a cool wedding, and actually very anti-Hollywood. The article also said that they want three kids just like they both had growing up.
I had no idea!
So will I. I went to a few beach weddings in SoCal and FL. Nice at sunset with the surf behind you. Romber will have darling kids and will be good parents.
I do have the sense of a good public relations team behind them. Surely they'll do commercials when their reality TV days are over, but even beyond that.....
Pretty Elizabeth from one of the earlier Survivors went on to marry a famous pro football player, one of the Hasselback brothers, and to have a tv career. She's on the a.m. show, The View, with Barbara Walters, etc., is the only Republican among those b@tchy women. It's fun to watch her nose turn up when Hitlery comes on.
So, Survivor and TAR can be springboards to media careers. Rob and Amber have real potential IMHO.
Hello! I am late to the dance...just found the thread. Can you add me to your ping? My favorite is Tom. Hope he wins.
Thanks for the ping Cuz. I got off work early tonight so I get to watch live. I hope you are wrong about Bobby John. He deserves to make it further. If the tiebreaker is a mental challenge I'm afraid Steph will win. See you all later!
