Prince Harry's Costume

Posted on 01/15/2005 6:10:33 AM PST by carrier-aviator

Would the world and the world press be as upset at Prince Harry if he had worn a Stalin or Mao costume? The murders committed by these men made Hitler look like a piker (if numbers of people killed is the measure). But, let's face it, the lefty press largely admired these communist murderers, so I wouldn't expect any notoriety at all if he dressed as one of them.

Which brings up the question: how about those who dress as or wear T-shirts dedicated to Che Guevara? While his murders probably numbered in the low-1000s is he still not a mass murderer? The lefties love to use him as some sort of perverse icon. If Harry had dressed as Che would there be an outcry? Of course not.

I agree with you that no one would have raised an eybrow if Harry had dressed as Che, or Mao. But his costume was offensive and he used poor judgement.

Listen Newbie, Don't you tell me I don't value the lives of soldiers. If you're too stupid to understand the difference between armed combatant casualties and purposefully inflicted civilian causalities then you're too stupid to have a conversation with and probably just a Dem disrupter anyway.

True, but damage and death were limited and the only people who remember it are Freepers and historians.

I served in the military, did you? I believe I can speak with more authority about soldiers than you.

You have neither authority or brains. You seem like an idiot whose real agenda is to defend the wearing of a Nazi uniform.

I don't waste my time arguing with idiots.

Goodbye.

Nope, that little twit deserves condemnation. But I KNOW that the left wouldn't raise an eyebrow if Harry had worn a Mao, Stalin, or Kim-il-Sung (all communist scum who killed far more than Hitler) outfit.

The double standard and hypocrisy of the PC left is the object of my ire.

"Would there be universal revulsion if Harry dressed as Kaiser Wilhelm?"

As Jay Leno said, lots of kids like to dress up in old family members' clothes they find in their attics...

We are of course supposed to find justification in British indignation because of the terror bombing by the Luftwaffe. Fair enough comment. I read an exasperated comment during the Viet Nam war. It was to the effect that the Vietnamese never stopped lobbying internationally, because of the American bombing.

The comment either sardonically or hopelessly mentioned that the Germans never complained and that included after the war. Well, 500,000 civilians died in the Allied Airforce raids- All forgotten, all forgiven, I suppose.

In WW1, the British tried to starve the Germans. The Germans tried to starve the British. British better at it. There just might be a not so jolly old crowd, together at judgement day- if there is one. LOL.

Its amazing how many in this string were blind to the hypocracy of the leftist MSM.

On one hand they reflect the obvious disdain for genocide committed by Nazis but yet they brainwash into wearing Che shirts and blind us to the real mass murders of the 20th century - the leftist communists.

No, there would not be an outcry from the libs if Harry had dressed up as Stalin, Mao, Castro, Che, Saddam, or any other person that they admire. Why they admire these folks so much and hate Hitler is beyond me, but they do. They're jsut different branches of the same tree. (Much of liberalism is based on personal hatred anyway.)

This is a mountain from a molehill, anyway. It's not as if Harry IS a Nazi. He wore a Nazi costume to a costume party. It was inappropriate, stupid, and over the line, but you know, people Harry's age tend to do things that are inappropriate, stupid, and over the line. Then tehy learn from the experience. He has apologized for it; it's time to move on.

Maybe he should turn up dressed as Che Guevars, just to call these people's bluff.
