There is nothing new or original in these arguments that
Christian apologists or theistic philosophers or theologians have not addressed over the centuries. If
Harris is only during graduate work now, it reminds us
how true Bernard Shaw's maxim is: "It's a shame youth is
wasted on the young."

I just have to add this;

A man rejects God neither because of intellectual demands nor because of the scarcity of evidence. A man rejects God because of a moral resistance that refuses to admit his need for God.

-Ravi Zacharias

THEY keep trying to "explain" away God, but they keep looking to themselves for a final explanation, an "end answer". How can flawed human beings of limited intelligence possibly come up with the perfect answer, when THEY themselves have yet to reach perfection of their own? ......my $.02

I've always been puzzled as to why religion is viewed, by some, as a "crutch" against the tough realities of life (ie, no afterlife) but atheism isn't seen as the same. Can there be a tougher reality than the possibility of Hell? Can't atheism be seen as a crutch some people use to deny the terror of damnation? From personal experience, some people who become atheists simply do it because they don't want to feel guilty about their behavior (usually sexual behavior) any more. Certainly not all atheists are motivated in this way, but some are. That's about as immature and "crutch-like" as you can get IMO.

Was King David a Jew? Did he say about his dead son "I will go to him..."
