NASCAR Free Republic Fantasy League - 2005

Posted on 01/13/2005 5:16:04 AM PST by steveegg

They're testing in Daytona, and Yahoo has opened the doors to the home of the Free Republic Fantasy League. As the 2004 champ (by a fender over WestCoastGal's JuniorsDreamTeam), one of my duties is to get the tires rolling, so I have.

You'll need a Yahoo ID (because they run it), then head here and sign up. The league ID is 1468, and the password is freepers.

Gal, as knowledgable as you are on all things Junior, he'd be proud to take you with him. Book a flight, he'll wait on you. ;-)

Thanks for the invite, I wish that I could.

I am the Jr expert here, I think. lol

We may be coming through Alabama sometime this year hoping to get tickets to Talladega. Have you been there?

Sorry I think my pic came out too big, kind of messed up my comments page and probably yours and steve's too.

I've never been to Talladega, however, my son has not missed a race there in 5 years. He's 17, goes with one of our cousins, and stays in the infield every time. From what I can gather, it's a bit too rowdy for me. When I ask him to tell me what all happened on his trips, he comes back with "What goes on in Talladega, stays in Talladega."

I do know that he purchases his ticket when he arrives at the track - maybe infield tickets are easier to come by. The cousin mentioned above has some kind of clout at Talladega, so if you need assistance in procuring a ticket, please let me know. I'll be happy to see what I can do.

BTW, no problems on "My Comments" page. I'm still giggling at your graphic.

Thank you!

It always helps to have information from someone who has been there. Some of the tracks make you buy a full weekend ticket these days. Although if it's Talladega I would like to see everything possible if I get there.

Is the infield RV only?

It may be too rowdy for me too. LOL

For some reason, I don't get actual comments on mine; just the fact that there are new posts to me (besides, I still have RoadRunner).

1 day, 26 teams. Welcome back, or welcome as the case may be.

We have 24 spots still open.

Does your RR ever get weird?

Here in Texas it will slow down like dial up or stop and not load pages every now and then for hours at a time. Since Oct I have had to call them about 12 times and they never know what it is. You have to talk to level 2 first (in Canada) then they transfer you back to locals. (Grrr)

They send techs out for outside, then inside. The last one put some kind of filter on the modem connection and it's only happened once since then, but that's once too many as far as I'm concerned.

Of course we know about the Trackpass problems from last year as well.

I see we need more teams.

Do we need to do a FRLeagueathon?

;-D

Oddly, no. Of course, the fact that the main office is less than 4 miles as the copper rolls might make a difference.

I seem to recall open spots up through the Bud Shootout last year (WS?).
