I didn't see any scripture. Just theologians talking. I'm not sure what they are apologizing for. My biggest concern is the one saying their pope is "inspired". Doesn't that mean whatever he says must be considered correct by Catholics? That is scary to me. It's no surprise that many Jews are waiting for Christ's first coming whereas Christians are waiting for His second coming. Most mainline religions acknowledge this. People should be able to worship as they please but to say my religion right for me but wrong for you and visa versa, but we are both right is very confusing and seems watered down. Just because you care for people and want to bring them into the fold (which I don't fault) shouldn't mean you must compromise IMO. Maybe some of our Catholic friends can shed some light here next week:')

As far as I know, Jews are NOT waiting for Christ, they are waiting for the moshiach.

Don't forget that Jesus was sent to preach repentance and to go to the lost sheep, to bring them back to the fold, not to start a new fold. ;)

I didn't say that scripture has been changed. I referred to an article where clergy is saying there WILL BE changes within the next 5 years...and that those changes would be radical/innovative. What I was trying to convey, is that the RCC is making changes that surprise her flock, and those outside of it.

Quoting..."I recall comments about revisions that were going to be made in the Bible...that some of the revisions would be radical...and that it would take about 5 years. I remember at the time thinking it would take that long in order to ease people into the adjustments...so as not to lose the flock. Since that article, I have noticed that the Vatican has taken positions that surprise many of their faithful...and even those outside the church."

I cannot help but think that they are being forced to make changes...because information is now so readily available (and easily accessible) for those who choose to search for the truth. If information weren't leaking out as it now is, i doubt you'd see these types of changes within the church.

While many think it's a bad thing...I think it's good.
