I concur. He was a bit brisk, but I didn't see anything worth zotting. But I don't know what he might have done or said to the moderator after being asked to cease and desist.

I wonder that myself. I think I'll wander over to TOS and see if he is on.

He will set up His thousand year reign here on earth. And during that thousand year reign, He will accomplish a purpose.

The Bible says that there will be some in rebellion, that rebellion breaks out during the Millennium. Christ will judge it immediately because He is going to bring this earth back under the rule of God. That is God’s purpose for the earth.

For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:25–28)

Jesus will come to this earth, reign one thousand years, and bring this earth back under the rule of God. When this is accomplished, He will return back to His place in the Godhead. And this earth then will become what God intended it to be throughout the eternal ages of the future. This is the picture that the Scripture presents.

Do you care to predict the score of the game?

Here's mine: Patriots 24 - Steelers 13.

No, thanks. I just want the game to be won or lost heads-up, man-to-man. Not on a special teams breakdown. If James Farrior comes up with a sack, fumble or interception to seal the deal, more's the better. And I'll take TD receptions by Hines or Plax or Antwaan. I'm not picky.

This is separate from the general judgment, then?

Jesus will come to this earth, reign one thousand years, and bring this earth back under the rule of God.

The "purpose" he accomplishes is bringing the earth back under the rule of God, then?

Does this include completing specific messianic prophecies such as rebuilding the temple and the return of the Jews to Israel? Looks like world peace and universal knowledge of God are already covered by what you said.

This part sounds pretty similar to traditional Jewish belief about the end times and the coming of the messiah. Much more so than amillennial and postmillennial eschatology.

And this earth then will become what God intended it to be throughout the eternal ages of the future.

How does the "new Heaven/new Earth" of Isaiah and Revelation fit in here?

Yep.

Yep, It also shows that even tho mankind will be ruled by God Himself under a perfect system (what all politics try to achieve) their will be some who rebel, and shows God true to his Word even under perfect rule mankind is sinful.

Same think except we believe He came already and will come again to finish the job.

Some believe the earth will be burnt up and a new one started and some believe this one will be restored, me I'll take either one. :)

Agreed. :o)

Of course you know I think Jeremiah's "new covenant" is a renewed covenant, so I have no problem seeing "new Heaven/new Earth" as a renewal or restoration.

That would also seem to indicate that, even then, free will is operative. And those who obey will have freely chosen to do so.

Folks will still have to accept Christ as their savior then, but it is under their own free will.

If the Steelers go to the SuperBowl I think the Patriots should lend them Brady for the game. :-)

If the Superbowl comes down to Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, be glad Bud Selig isn't NFL commissioner. He'd probably declare a merger of the two teams back into the Steagles and call the game a tie. ;o)

Not on a special teams breakdown.

Special teams is 1/3 of the team. The Pat's haven't been all that great this year.

Still, Special Teams are just as important to the success of the team as the Offense and Defense. If the game is won by better Special Teams play it is just as legitimate.

If the weather is bad as expected, it could easily come down to special teams. The game could be decided on a missed field goal or a fumbled punt return.

Only if both sides run out of quarterbacks. :-)

My wife got some Italian roast beef to simmer in the crock pot for the game. I'll get some beer after work. And Mother Nature is providing the chilling. Bag of ice? I don't think so.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mind winning cause of a special teams play (or misplay). I just hate losing that way.

We'd done real well on ST this year, only one kick return for a TD. So having that punt happen last week was not nice.

I really wish they'd only take a week off between the conference championships and the Superbowl. February 6th is an oddly late date for the game.

On the bright side, pitchers and catchers will be reporting for spring training shortly thereafter! :o)

I went out for the mail about an hour ago. I am about 100 yards from the mailbox but it was 8F and very windy. Since I can't walk in the wind I took the car.

I had a choice to drive 200 yards, 1/3 of a mile around the circle, or put a few miles on the car, at least enough to warm it up.

It is cold and windy but with a bright sun so I decided to go down to the river to see how the Seals were handling the "cold".

Sure enough, they were pulled up on the rocks, luxuriating in the sun. After all, this is their "summer" home.

Now that the February barrier has been breached, look for it to only slide further. In ten years, the Super Bowl will be the day before March Madness (now located at times in April) begins. Pretty soon they'll be playing hockey on the 4th of July.

Well, maybe not the hockey thing.

I know you have plenty of choices for excellent beer but you should try a 12 pack of Sam Adams Winter Classic if you can get it down there. It's like a grab bag with all good prizes. Right now I am drinking a Cranberry Lambic. Wow! What great beer. I just reach in and take what comes next. Ummm good!
