Word For The Day, Day, Date
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
prosaic
adj ;pro·sai·cal·ly adv. ; pro·saic·ness n.
1: not fanciful or imaginative; "local guides describe the history of various places in matter-of-fact tones"; "a prosaic and unimaginative essay" [syn: matter-of-fact] 2: lacking wit or imagination; "a pedestrian movie plot" [syn: pedestrian, prosy, earthbound] 3: not challenging; dull and lacking excitement; "an unglamorous job greasing engines" [syn: commonplace, humdrum, unglamorous, unglamourous]
Etymology: Late Latin prsaicus, from Latin prsa, prose. See prose
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

The prosaic period in American politics is (slowly) ending as the web reduced the power of democratic dinosaurs (er, politicians) in Washington.
Unfortunately, that leaves some professional repubican dinosoars around: such as Chaffee, McCain, and a few others.

Today's predictable, prosaic whine
From the moonbats on the left
Is the same recycled nonsense-
Conspiracy theories and election "theft"
And women are "on the brink", says NOW
Of loosing their "right to choose"
And Ohio's votes weren't counted right-
They just keep repeating the same old news
They need to step away from the bong
And lay off the koolaid sooner or later-
Because Bush really won, "choice" is murder
