For Want of a Camera

Can one possibly hope to capture
the eerie twilight
the surrealistic sunset
that bathes the land in darkest blues
And the sun deepest orange
death throes as it sinks
beneath the horizon
Without my lens of lasting
memory what can I do
But watch in awe as
the moon and one bright companion
waltz among the lacy leafless
branches of October
And wonder if these are but
Roots reaching for the heavens
Drawing true nourishment from
where nourishment truly comes
What can I do but wish and walk on,
left with only a chemical imprint
on the canvas of my mind instead.

Good morning everyone!
Wonderful to see the Lair is open and poets are poeting!
Thank You all for your contributions.

Nice poem. The camera will never be able to capture what our minds eye sees, try as it might.
Thanks for the tunes.
