ja! okay we`ll save it all for the Norwegians den! :)

Have you ever tasted Blood oranges? I was just given a whole sack of them! I love em! They taste sensational! A cross between a mandarin orange and raspberries! Orange on the skin and the fruit is purple/red.

How are you going to fix your King Crab?

Oh yes, blood oranges, my aunt used to buy them.

YUM.

I was kidding about the crab, however, I do love crab meat.

That`s a pretty red rooster! :-)

My Grandmother collected chickens and roosters. I have several of them sitting here and there. They always remind me of happy times spent with her whenever I look at them, especially when I clean them. She would always fill a sink full of sudsy water and it was my job to wash all the nicnacs. It was a fun job. She stood near to make sure I handled gently, and it was somethng I never tired of doing. We both would stand and dry them together, talking. Quality time....Together time, these are the times we all remember.

My Grandfather was a carpenter. He built homes. He also made lawn and patio furniture, even the wheels to the chaise lounges were made of wood. They looked like sliced logs. He made her all kinds of shelves and little tables. She must have had over 200 hens and roosters. Now that`s something to crow about! ;)

Such wonderful memories you have with your Grandmother and Grandfather.

I am a chicken and rooster collector, too. Once I made chicken print curtains for my kitchen, in fact I gave them to my granddaughter for her kitchen apartment at college.

I have tons of little roosters and chickens on over the window shelves in my kitchen. Many from Finland.

I particularilly love the bright red of the rooster graphic I posted. It was a free graphic I found for today.

I always knew there were diamonds up there.....

Some diamonds might be planet-sized

U.S. astronomers said some planets might contain so much
carbon that part of their interiors have turned into diamond
layers hundreds of miles thick. Astronomers at Princeton
University said such planets would have a composition based
on carbon, in contrast with Earth and the other rocky
planets of the solar system, which are based mainly on
silicon. Such planets would be created by explosions of
carbon-rich stars that also produced low levels of oxygen.

In such cases, the resulting planet-forming disks would
contain large quantities of compounds such as graphite,
which if condensed and heated sufficiently would form
diamond structures of planet-sized dimensions. As
evidence, the team has found carbon-rich meteorites
imbedded with minute quantities of diamond, which they
said suggests the existence of such planets.

They said the best place to look for diamond planets might
be near the center of the Milky Way, where a large
potential number of carbon-rich stars are located. As time
goes by, the Princeton team said, the whole galaxy will
become richer in carbon, thereby increasing the odds that
new planets will be high-carbon in content and possibly
contain massive diamond layers.

Red is my favorite. It is a beautiful rooster, thank you.

I would love to see all your roosters. They are cheery.

I lost a post :(

I was just going to say my Grandmother had chicken and rooster table cloths too, and both sets of dishes had chickens and roosters. I have many of the dishes still. All the drinking glasses had the same prints.

Really, I think Grandpa tired of them, but he let her have her way with them. Always giving to one another. I remember this well. If there was something to disagree about, it was behind a closed door with lowered voices in their foreign language, though they spoke English daily.

One time Grandma thought she would really help out by going outside the home to earn some money. She was going to work on an egg farm. She could walk there. So that morning she had her coat and scarf on, all ready to go. She handed Grandpa his lunch pail. He said "Where are you going so early this morning Emma?" She said "I have a job to help out" He just backed around and went to sit in her rocking chair, rocking back and forth. She asked "what are you doing Matt, you will be late for work!" He said "well, one of us has to stay home and raise the children, so if you are going to work, I`ll stay home."

He reminds me of actor J.W. in many ways, he still brings me laughter, just thinking about him.
We live in amazing times, but Life is so Grand. All we need is one `good` memory, if we only have `one` to make us laugh, it would be enough. If not, it`s never too late to create one. :)

We could stand on our heads! hi!

radu might get a beehive hairdoo!

This is a very interesting read.
I read that St. Lawrence Island in Alaska has a beach gravel like marbles. You could come practice walking on those, :) you can`t loose em either! Only in your mind.
