2. THELMA + LOUISE

Saddest movie I ever saw. What happened to that T-Bird at the end brought tears to my eyes.

My wife tells me that Sleepless in Seattle belongs on that list, along with An Affair to Remember.

Can't watch SLEEPLESS again since it has Rosie O'Doughnut as the 'best friend'. Not too high on Meg Ryan either!

Ha! Not amongst the Palis. They were smashing Pretty Women cd's the other day after Richard GEREbil opened his pie-hole and tried to educate them on the importance of voting (claiming, of course, that he spoke for the world).

Wait! Are these chick flicks for guys or chick flicks for chicks? Or is the term chick even appropriate in this context. And how 'bout Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island lots of strong animated female roles in that one--thinking of Daphne.

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Steel Magnolias, Terms of Endearment, Message in a Bottle, Gone With the Wind....my husband would never watch any of these. But the only movie that ever made me cry was Brian's Song. Go figure!

You like Hepburn in SABRINA but not in ROMAN HOLIDAY? Or in BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S?

The ultimate chick flick is "Steel Magnolias" - once you've seen it, you've seen them all.

"I would think that most women would be insulted by this selection."

Me too, but I have heard many women quote from that movie. I have been told by women on several occasions that they were looking for "the farytale".

You might repair that sadness by watching the happiest ending I ever saw. Easy Rider.

Pretty Woman sucks. Where is Steel Magnolias?? That is the greatest chick flick ever. Every woman I know can quote lines from it like mad.

"If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit next to me!"

"Sammy is so confused he doesn't know whether to wipe his watch or wind his butt."

"The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize!"

"What happened to the other four?"

"I'd rather have fifteen minutes of wonderful then a lifetime of nothing special."

I only remember one scene - where Gere takes Roberts shopping & tells the snooty salesclerk that they require major sucking up, and then says "Not me. Her."

pissant - You are the master of top 10 lists, however I can't agree with this one!

Pretty Woman #1??? YUCK - A sucessful, attractive, effete, fem man; falls in love with a swollen-lipped, wannabe prostitute. I don't get it!

10. All About Eve. One of my all-time favorites. Betty Davis is just SO "Margo Channing"! The rest of the list is lame, IMO. What about Female on the Beach, with Joan Crawford and Jeff Chandler. It's just a great 40s kitch flick!

I'd much rather laugh than cry. And I do enjoy an good action or adventure story. Watched a few minutes of Steel Magnolias once and it just gave me a headache.

Shows your common sense to me!
