It's to our detriment that these people reproduce.
The DUers are in a mini-debate over whether to use this term. Some find it catchy, while others think it is insulting ("What's the rebellion? We're standing up for the Constitution1"). Incidentally, Bill Clinton uses "defending the Constitution" to explain his behavior throughout the Monica/Impeachment ordeal. Same playbook I guess.

Public schools are liberal indoctrination centers. Only the bright among us can escape and still think for ourselves. Sadly, this author has taken the Left Wing teachings and swallowed them hook, line and sinker.
"Whine Cheat and steal.. Nothing is beneath them".(post #52)
I think he has the wrong party. If they can't win fair and square they whine, cheat, steal, blame.
The writer will be a Republican if she ever reaches adulthood herself
Someone's organizing a Jazz Funeral for democracy on Inauguration Day, and were advertising it on DU

Amazing. I wonder how Democracy is going to feel about being buried while still alive?
And what will they use instead of "Just a Closer Walk with Thee?" You can't have a New Orleans style Jazz funeral without that song!
People have no sense of proportion. They visualize a political reality and if we don't match their dream, then we're not being democratic? Sounds like the dreamers are trying to stiffle what real democracy is (in the
American form of a representational democratic republic)- rule by the people. And the people have spoken! And the people don't want their dream.
That's what they need to bury - their nightmare.
And the kid will respond" and you FOOL you fell for it, not just once but twice" We have a few DU in family.. I give up on the old ones.. We have been working on the young onces before they start "believing" .

I'm Starting to Just Not Care Anymore - I'm Just All Cared Out
I have quit watching the News where I used to watch it all the time. I don't feel like anything I do will make any difference so why even try.
We have lost Congress
We have lost the Judiciary
We have lost the law
We have lost our right to religion.
And I posted how I felt here and promptly got checked out by the CIA or the FBI. Fortunately, I probably have the most boring record in history.

2. Maybe the others, but how have we lost our right to religion??

4. As a non-christian American, I am feeling less and less welcome and free to express my views.

3. Mary, you might enjoy my New Year's Resolution
I intend to be more close-minded and less tolerant of others.
So far it is working. I've found fewer people stop by to tell me how miserable they are (since I started asking them what the common thread among all their problems was - their stupidity).
Actually, my liberal friends are having fun with it. The RW nutties are put off by my new attitude.

13. yep, mee too
Soo much effort was put into that last ****ed up campaign. Bush ads were aired during the most popular shows and sporting events. Kerry ads were aired on the ****ING GAME SHOW CHANNEL.
I still cannot believe that to this day. Let me say it one more time. THE ****ING GAME SHOW CHANNEL.
The bush republithugs have attacked every worthwhile democratic institution without any meaningful response. What few voices were out there were deafened by the cheers of church people.
I am all worn out too

14. Feel much the same.....
Listening to the Dems yesterday at the Gonzalez hearing.........same old crap. They bring up EGREGIOUS examples of unconstitutional behavior, rant and rave, blah blah, we all hear it........then NOTHING! He'll be confirmed and we'll move on to the next confirmation hearing. The Dems will rant and rave, yadda yadda.
Hard to care anymore.

I'm honestly concerned that suicide rates in blue areas will be going up. These people are in a deep, dark funk from which they may not return.
They're beating their heads at their own stupidity. I'm glad the Left is still in the dark! (laughing)
Some of them have flashes of insight from time to time, but many careen along in their own parallel universe. Their cluelessness opens them up to great disappointment.
Boxer rebellion!! How they manage to waste their time over at DU! They are pathetic!
Thats a BIG ditto!
They also spend an inordinate amount of time trying to ferret out Freepers. To them, it's like Van Helsing hunting down vampires! A poster there is automatically suspect if he has fewer than several hundred posts (yes, they keep track of them). I think they've chased off a lot of "innocent" people.

my open letter to John Kerry...
Dear John Kerry: Thanks so much for your recent email....let me see if I understand you correctly:
What you are saying is: "I will continue to ask you to do all the work while I do nothing whatsoever, because there's nothing in it for me, really. I can't be president so I will expend no effort. However, here's some phone numbers so you can call the low level switchboards without getting through a phalanx of bureaucrats to reach people I actually come in contact with every day at work but refuse to carry the message to them while having a gin and tonic with them in the senate lounge.
So, instead of me representing YOU, as you might think my job would require, I"m going to stand back and let you represent YOURSELVES and throw yourself against the windmills of general access phone numbers, while I, in possession of these guy's private phone numbers on my cellphone speeddial, will continue to hoard the money you donated specifically to contest the election and save it for my next run at the office in 2008.
So, I don't have your back so much as I have the audacity to give you a phone number you could find yourself in a google search and tell you to sweat really, really, hard against the majority party who stole the election and somehow convince them to pay attention to you among the clamor of lobbyists from Diebold, Pfizer, Halliburton and Carlysle.
Good luck, and I won't even pay for your call. Do it on your own dime."
Do I have that right?
If so, here's my response: you're right. We SHOULD continue to work ourselves for election reform and protect the right of voters to see their voices get heard. And you're also right that we should no longer depend on YOU to do that for us, because that's obviously not going to happen. You're more concerned about your own political ambitions than "watching our backs".
I worked hard for your campaign, I donated, I talked you up, I put signs up in neighbor's yards, etc. But there were people that did a whole lot more than me, and in a way I"m glad that you are being such a wimp at this point because it reminds us that NO single candidate is more important that democracy itself. Protecting the right to vote fairly is more of a moral imperative than even unseating such a dangerous man as Bush.
I'm glad you being a coward and bowing out of the process at this point. I"m glad you're abandoning those who worked for you, and I"m glad you refused to stand up and support Boxer and Conyers. Because you aren't worthy to unlatch their sandals. They're working for US. You're still working for YOU.
I hope you enjoyed your 15 minutes, Sen. Kerry. Because I, for one, refuse to give you any more time.
