Texas definitely plays Ohio State early in the season. I'm positive that they signed up for a two-year home and home series because I was ragging a UT alum at the office about his team always scheduling North Texas State.
We looked up future schedules, and Ohio State is either their second or third game next year.
For UT to truly get over the hump, they have to beat Oklahoma. Maybe they can do it next year. I'm not terribly confident because it seems to be such mental block. They automatically choke. It's one of the strangest things I've observed in college football.

Agreed. I think it is a mental issue, and I think they can use the Michigan Rose Bowl win as a tool to help them overcome that hump.
Texas needed to win a BIG game. The Rose Bowl was a BIG game. Their next BIG game, at least mentally is against OU in 2005. That is, if they don't get blown out by OSU first.
I think Texas will be ranked high in the preseason next year. While they are losing some good players, they have some outstanding talent coming back and always recruit well. If they can get over this "hump", then they may very well be playing for the championship next year, against USC, in the Rose Bowl.
