For over two weeks now I have been unable to log into my Hotmail email account on my home computer (logging into the account on other peoples' computers is no problem).
1) a new window opens up
2) according to my Status Bar the Hotmail site is downloading
3) BUT -- the site NEVER downloads! :-(
4) very often I will click on my MSN Instant Messenger (when I log onto my computer) and TWO HOURS LATER my computer's Status Bar will be showing that it is STILL in the process of "downloading" the site! (The Status Bar will only go halfway -- never complete.) 5) The only way that I can now look at my Hotmail messages is by opening my Outlook program and viewing them there. 6) Even when I get into my Outlook program I am often unable to download Hotmail messages/folders larger than, say, 100k! :-(
I would really appreciate if someone in FR Land would be able to help me with this problem....yes, I DO have Yahoo and NetZero email accounts, but I have several items saved on my Hotmail account folders -- and I'm not too keen on changing my 6+ year-old Hotmail email address at this point....
Thanks in advance for any advice....and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Yes, Hotmail IS web-based, but it IS accessible via Outlook as Outlook is an MSN-compatible program....I also used to be able to download my Hotmail messages back when I had Outlook Express on my computer....

Well, have you showered? Have you eaten cheese? Have you thought about Anna?

Yes, I have tried accessing it on www.hotmail.com, BUT....it keeps defaulting to the Microsoft.NET log-in....even AFTER I log out of the Microsofe.NET network (needed for MSN Instant Messenger)....and, yes, I am logged on....

Then your connection is almost fixed. Now you must find and pet a moose . . .

That should be pretty easy up here in Canada! :-)

Not sure what "....is-attached 9" means, but IF you are asking me if I am connected to the Internet, yes, I am...

I have a Hotmail account I use rarely. In October when I went to Outlook Express to check my mail, it wouldn't work.
I then went to the MSN webpage and found out it wouldn't let me access my Hotmail anymore via Outlook unless I paid a fee. It says "To continue, you need to sign in with a Microsoft® .NET Passport" and this costs money. So, now I just access my Hotmail via the MSN website - still for free.....

Would you happen to know at what time one had to now pay to look at Hotmail via Outlook? Was it in the last few weeks?

Guess it WOULD help matters if I formatted my response to you properly.... :-)
