I remember USC fans whining a lot last year about who played in the title game (Oklahoma and LSU) and what did it get them?.....Enough sympathy that USC remained number 1 throughout the year despite too many close calls (Cal..not as good as everyone thought and Oregon State...that powerhouse).

What did "whining" get Texas? A shot in the Rose Bowl. Seems the squeaky wheel does get the grease. Until we have a true playoff, like Division 1A and Division 2 football....we will always have these sorts of arguments.

Oregon State won seven of their last eight games; the only loss coming to USC. OSU started very slow but finished very strong. Oregon State's domination of Notre Dame four years ago and a repeat on a lesser scale this year will further propel Notre Dame into irrelevance. Anyone who thinks ND is going to get better players after this disaster is crazy. ND should have done the smart thing an declined to go to a bowl game.

The Texas "whining" was, in reality, a power play by the coaches in the Conference. They banded together to get Texas into a better bowl, which meant more bowl money distributed to the teams in the conference (and hence, the coaches who were involved in the "fix").
