So from a marketing perspective, why would I want to market to 300,000 (Anaheim), or three million (Orange County), when I have an opportunity to market 161/2 million in the metropolitan area?

The United States of America Angels?

The "Americas" Angels?

The Milky Way Galaxy Angels?

The "actual city where Disneyland is at" Angels?

You got it right. The change from the California Angels to the Anaheim Angels was a mistake. However, the city of Anaheim coughed up $30 million for the stadium revision and I can understand why they feel a bit betrayed. But, at the end of the day, all will be forgotten if they win the World Series. Artie Moreno has to increase the market appeal of the team to support a payroll that will bring a consistent winner to Sothern California.

When they changed to Anaheim Angels was it to please the city of Anaheim, or because Di$ney figured, "When you hear
the name 'Anaheim', what does it make you think of?" They're no longer a Mickey Mouse-operation :) ...but this is still a very long name.

That's what I meant by "to please the city of Anaheim" (after the stadium renovations paid for by the city of A.)
