The majority of content on FR is responding to news and editorials published elsewhere (although there are several FReeper columnists who post an article here weekly/semi-regularly).
Generally FReepers like to see new poster get their feet wet in an ongoing political discussion. Many of the trolls who come here to spin their trash sign up and post several articles, with response to any of the comments, and eventually "out" themselves.
You've stayed conversational and rational in your posts.

Your own opinions, questions, etc., are considered "vanity" posts and are usually frowned upon unless a particular brilliant insight is offered. Posts should be news items or editorials. When you sign up and post a vanity thread ON THE SAME DAY, that is considered particularly bad form.
Sit back, relax, watch and listen for a while. Again, welcome--you seem sincere. We do get a lot of trolls here.
