We spend alot of time wondering where to eat too. We both work at the same place so we go out to lunch somewhere most days. I'm like you in that I don't really care for chain places either. The food costs too much for what you get. We like this little hole-in-the-wall place down by the Gin, next to the John Deere place called The Farmhouse Grille. It kills me that they put the 'e' on the end of Grill. Trying to be fancy I guess. ;o) But they've got the BEST country cookin' I've ever had (outside of my Mama's kitchen). You can get a meat and 3 veggies, bread and all the tea you can drink for $4.95 and you can not hold another bite when you leave there. They're real friendly folks too and it doesn't matter if you've got cow crap on your boots or not. My kinda place!
Those kind of places usually are the best. The place we ate breakfast at yesterday was a hole in the wall place. Mack had looked up on the internet what were the best places to eat breakfast at in this area. It was listed, so we tried it. Very good, excellant service. They only serve breakfast and lunch.
