To get decent hay aroud here we pay more then that, unless we get it out of the field and haul ourselves (I hate that). Then of course you have to be able to store it. I could probably store more now with the kids horses not here.

Hay prices are all over the board. This supplier is a relatively new source for us. That's the price picking it up out of her barn, a few miles away. She's close, that's good.

This hay is pretty good for local hay, but cheaper than the really good quality 100 pound orchard grass bales from eastern WA that are $10/bale. The bales are lighter and not as dense so you go through it a lot faster... We haven't really tried to figure the difference.
