I might have asked you too, just as a point of interest, whether he ~needed~ spurs... much like I asked if Cyn really ~needed~ the moderately severe bit they were using on her. I don't think it would discourage their interest. They'll probably believe your answer and it will end with that.

But I do know people like my friend Bob who just wear them all the time too.

If a horse "needs" them, do you consider that bad? a problem? Would you use spurs, would you buy a horse that "needs" them?

Personally, I would be more inclined to stay away from a horse that "needed" a severe bit (I realize Cyn doesn't), then if they needed spurs.
