Even if not though unless you are in the horse breeding business or showing, does it matter that much? I wanted Okie to ride. I didn't care if he was papered or not. It was just a nice surprise. If they are just pleasure horses is it that important or would I be stuck with a horse no one wanted?

You'd find a buyer for the horse.... just at a price far below what you invested into the breeding, care, feeding and time spent raising it. It's hard enough to break even selling registered horses.
