Thanks for the advice, I think I will get one and ask James to hold the lead rope (under threat!), I dont know why I want to do this so much but I do! : )

I'm sure he didn't feel very manly, but I held the lead rope for ecurbh till I was sure he could stop and turn if Bay spooked or tried to take him to the barn. I am a ~really~ nervous teacher.

I keep getting more and more amazed at ecurbh's ability and courage... He just decided to kick Bay up and canter on about his third ride, when I was just barely able to not nervously bite my nails watching him trot very far away from me. ;~D

So... There's a cautious, risk free existence, or there is really living to your fullest. Trust your inner voice... ;~D
