Hi everyone, I have finally got on here and have been reading all the posts.......and there have been some good ones! LOL
Deaconjim was talking about Misty earlier, and I thought I would let you all know that she was the first horse I rode! We were out in the pasture, and deaconjim had been giving the kids lead rides and he asked me (then terrified of horses) if I wanted to ride. The children cheered me on, and I bravely said yes! I got on, (and that was a sight!) and expected deaconjim to hold the lead rope like he did for the children. NOPE! He undid it and gave Misty a pat. I was so scared she must have felt me shaking all over. She turned in a huge circle, did a little trot then came back towards Deaconjim. I asked him how to stop and he said "whoa". Which she did for me. She also stood still while i shakily got/fell off!
I think that, although very frightening, was the turning point for me wanting to know/learn more!
