Just pop him in the nose with the lead rope every time he trys to run ahead of you. He will stop.

Well actually she does really good now most of the time and when she doesn't I just turn her in a circle and she stops. I just thoughtit was interesting that on every horse, even though the kids weren't getting it the trainer had them walking with her and stepping back when she turned towards them. Maybe she had popped them on their noses previously:')
