Me too. When I went it was always me, the trainer, then a bunch of younger kids, who I'd end up grooming for as well as having to take care of myself and my horse. Then in the flat classes there were just too many horses, and it really freaked me out. Cantering in a mob is just no fun, and no matter how hard you try to find your own spot on the rail, someone always ends up riding up your butt or cutting you off. I would like to try dressage shows though, because I'd be the only one in the arena when I ride my test. I think it'll be a while before I do that though. I have a lot to work on.

What clinched it for me, was at an Appaloosa show. I was showing a yearling in the halter class. As I walked to the judge, he was looking at me, like "do I know you". Judges are trainers and trainers are judges. I could not see hiring someone, to show my horses.
