My back is better, but not right yet. I was able to get on the tractor yesterday and mow down the briars that had grown up where I'm going to build the barn. Went ahead and clean up the field that Lightning is in while I was at it. I don't think I'm ready to start building yet. I can't risk having to miss work again. I was out for two weeks because of it last summer, and I can't take that chance again.
The baby's fine. He's eating hay and M&F feed now. He loves the new field because he's got room to run. Sugar is doing well too, but hasn't bagged up yet. Wish I had paid more attention this time last year, I would have a better idea when to expect her to pop.
Sounds like good progress anyway, and glad the foal is growing up well. Working with him much? He's strong enough now to do real halter work and should be trained to lead and stand patiently with you, if not tied yet. He won't be easier when he's bigger! But your wife can do this.
.... glad you aren't getting any more snow.
You may already be doing this. But there is a company that makes support equipment for horses, that came out with a back brace for people. I have one, and use it on occasion. It really really helps and is quite comfortable.
The company is Professional Choice. I'll see if they have a web sit.
