There isn't much around here. A couple are miles away but seem to be very seclusive.

I think it's a great idea. I don't know if the riding clubs you are talking about are the same as horsemen's associations but I'm guessing they are.

We belong to two. In one of them, we just go to the shows four times a year and get the newsletters. In the other, we take an active part, meetings, rides, etc. It's a good way to meet people with the same interests, learn new things, and have someone to ride with.

I was reading through the posts and came across the animal psychic one and I gotta comment. I don't believe in that garbage either but...
When I was volunteering at a therapeutic riding school I was always on the lookout for nice, cheap (or free) horses to donate. I sent an email to a trick riding woman I know that has tons of horses. She had a friend that had a horse with navicular that she was thinking of donating and did I want to come see her. Sure, I said. When I got there, the mare seemed sound of enough leading kids around on and I brought her home. They said she needed bute before riding. Well, the next day when the bute wore off, that poor mare was dead lame, way too lame for the school. I couldn't figure out what to do with this mare, I didn't think the lady wanted her back. I toyed with the idea of sending her in for horse steaks because I didn't want to spend the $300 for euthanasia and burial. What stopped me from sending her to the killers was that these people use the services of a horse psychic and were firm believers.
Luckily, I never had to make a decision, the lady called and wanted her back if I wasn't going to use her.

Becky, are ya'll ok up there? Are you in all that snow and ice?

Bitter cold here but no snow or ice falling. I'll be busting ice in the water tubs, though.

I don't drink at all, anymore. Makes me feel all warm, too. And 3 weeks after that warm feeling those pregnancy tests are always positive.

ROTFL! And LOL on your guilt about the psychic tattling if you sent the horse to auction.

We are up before Becky this morning, I think... Good morning.

Alcohol actually might have been good BC for me. Half a drink and I was done for the night. Now those vacations.... You know how you always forget stuff and come back with souvenirs?

Yup, I'm familiar with those souvenirs, too. Gotta couple at school right now.

LOL My husband HATES it that I don't drink anymore. Add a little alcohol, those inhibitions go right out the window.

On this show that I was talking to Hair about, there was this little ball of "hair" that would try to bite his owner when she touched his bachside and chewed her mail up when it dropped thru the door. She hired a dog shrink who stopped the bad behavior by letting the dog know he was "handsome" :')

Are you kidding? Is that a joke? You mean to tell me that that stupid bird dog that was chewing up my water hoses would have stopped if I convinced him he was good-looking?

That's what he said. I could have saved her a lot of money by telling her a cheaper way to make him stop but I guess he would have still felt ugly after getting popped on his sensitive butt with the chewed up mail.

Maybe if you just had a talk with the bird dog or let him look at himself in the mirror...Don't take the water to him though in case he ever talks to a psychic:')
