Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
I haven't been on a moonlight trail ride, either. I did do alot of dumb stuff in my youth, but none of them in the moonlight. (not on a horse, anyway)
I hate the damp, drippy cold after a snow, don't you?
She's on the Gazelle doing a 30 min workout with Tony Little and last I looked her speed was up around 35 - 40 MPH :)

We have alot of trees on part of our property but it's not as pretty as yours. We have a bunch of dead stuff that needs to be burned. Maybe Becky would like to come for a visit...

The area you live in is eerily beautiful. I can see the spirits of the indians and the people who died crossing in covered wagons in your pictures. (is that psycho?)
Too much coffee makes me mean, if ya need anybody killed just give me a big tall strong cup and tell me who to kill. :)

I can watch horses getting shots, I can watch other people getting shots, but I can't watch myself getting shots or blood getting drawn. I had to get a bunch of blood drawn on Wednesday and the nurse thought that I was nuts when I told her that I wanted a small needle, and wouldn't look.
No - not psycho at all - I see the same thing.
:) I tell them is they hurt me I'll hit them. I am such a baby.
My middle son was in high school and I got a call from the nurse. They were getting tb tests or something and he passed out and she had him laying down and just wanted to let me know she was sending him back to class. Funny thing is, it wasn't his shot. He saw the girl in front of him and "lights out":')
