Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
When I was a youth I rode my horse all over town, but never at night. ;~D
Do you have pictures of your riding either now or then? We love pictures around here.
Tuffy is a fine looking horse. Coincidentally, I have an acquaintance here in Scottsdale with a Paint named Tuffy. Makes one wonder how they got the name.
Pictures. Hmmm. All of my pictures are old fashioned film stuff. I recently purchased a scanner so I guess I'm going to have to get busy and scan a few photos. I'll take some pictures next time I'm at the training stable too. We have a personal web page with photos of our recent adventures but I'm a little reluctant to post a link to it here because it has our names on it.
Understood, you could post the pictures that are posted there, unless the picture properties still give too much private info, or it's a Tripod page that won't hotlink pics.
What you could do is copy them to a free service like www.snapfish.com and post them from that.

Me too... but they're gone for the weekend. I hope she hasn't foaled already when they get back, I hope someone is there with her when she does.
WE stopped at Starbucks for a cup of coffee, I've never been there. I'm a big coffee drinker, but damn, that stuff is like a shot of speed. I'm jittering around here like I'm wired for 2/20. How do people drink coffee that strong. And I didn't even finish a small one. Whew!

I just took some pictures here, I'll get them up in a few minutes. The sun is shining - it's beautiful. Snow is melting, mud and water every where. DIL and friend are in the rings right now, exercising horses that haven't been ridden in two months.
I drink four-shot espressos every morning ;~D
ecurbh gets a little goofy on them ;~D he wasn't raised in the NorthWest.
I am so sorry - that is so depressing with the cold and grey - I was ready to run away.
I may get goofy here too:), I don't know how you do that. I think I'll go run around the block or something:)

What's the average temps during the rest of the year?
LOL, I can't even get the cursor on the right place without it jumping all over the place. And I'm having to retype everything several times, because my fingers aare jumping aroudn:)

Ninety in summer is a cold front here and I'm sure in Phoenix, too.
