Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Well the vet should be able to tell us if we have to worry or not:)

I don't know, unless she's started to foal and the baby is moving up. Or the baby is breach. Or the baby is two. Please try not to worry unless she seems in pain or starts sweating and labor and you don't see front feet. Since you have the vet on speed dial now, just keep an eye on her. If you have bran, make her a bran mash for dinner.
well we did think she was foaling before : ) The reason I am concerned and am still getting the vet out is that my trainer thinks she looks odd and he has been around horses all his life.
I had an overo before I got Rusty. Have you ever had a horse you just truly came to HATE:). I hated that horse by the time I got rid him of him. I still get pissed off just thinking about him. But he was beautiful. He was built alot like Harley, and was very loudly marked.
But I truly came to hate him, and could have shot him as easy as pie. He just got lucky that someone else wanted him.

What????? DJ gets home at midnight at best..if he goes to walmart it will be 1am ! its already pitch black out there and there are all sorts of things in the dark, like snakes....gulp!

They should have one at Wal-mart. Just make sure you get the right kind for the type of media that your camera uses. Mine is Compact Flash only, but I've had it a while. I think they make one that will accept any kind of memory disk now. Mine looks kinda like a mouse.
And Hair I can't believe you've never been in a WM. Do they just not have 'em out there or what? My BIL thinks they are the Great Satan and will not go there. But I know he does and just doesn't want anybody to know. Kinda like a Baptist at the liquor store. ;o) Just joking!!

No, sorry I havent, he has another job at night. Guess we will have to wait till morning. My daughter has just told me she cant see Sugar so i guess we have the flahlight and praying no snakes around scenaro.............brb

I didn't think it was possible to HATE a horse. I never met one I couldn't love. But I guess I've been lucky. What'd he do to ya?
