Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I so wish it were slow here today. We are being slammed at the library. At three o'clock we were averaging just over 120 people per hour walking through the front door. The telephone has been ringing non-stop.
The gate's padlocked, and we're not gonna open it. Gate climbers will get treated as a threat.
I didn't know you worked at the library...are you a libraian?

Snow against last night and 21 degrees this morning.
I saw a group of wild horses on the way in with a white horse with black mane and tail. I've never seen that horse before so I'm thinking it's one of the blue roans with an extra heavy winter coat on. Also saw a grey coyote, very large fox, small wolf (?)

Good morning all. Back down in the land of the hanging chad again. 75 degrees today and supposed to be 80 by Friday.
I passed a ranch in Georgia on the way down Sunday that had a sign out front that said something about Nevada mustangs. They must have had 40 or 50 in the pastures that I could see from driving by. Didn't get the name of the place. I plan on stopping by on my next trip back home. (I try to stay off the interstates as much as possible. The scenery is better and it's a lot safer.)
Dropped two rolls of film off at the drugstore last night. I'll pick em up tonight and see if there is anything worth posting tomorrow.
