Thread Four: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1332664/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
First you talk about controlling flies now you're talking about bottoms dropping. Don't you know men can't handle mixed messages! Make up your mind!
LOL
You need a horse, dude.
Uh, what?
You can be funny but keep the topic in the saddle club to postings regarding horses, agriculture, etc or you're gonna get banned.
I wish I had them again. I posted here a week or so ago that we used to have them but moved into the city and had to give them up. Don't think the neigbhors would appreciate having one on a garden lot.
Yeah, I read that post. You're a nutball. Funny, but a nutball.
You can live in the city and board them. That's what I do.
Yes, that was considered but we decided to take the money we would save each month and have fun on the riverboats in Baton Rouge. Can't say its paid off yet but it will!
It is possible to do both. lol We used to go to Lawton and watch the horses run and then go on to Lake Charles. I really loved getting to go to the rails and watch the horses parade and them racing was one of the most beautiful things I've watched. Sadly, the last time I went something bad happened and a horse veered and fell. He was just laying on the track while someone checking or finishing him off. I looked around and everyone talking and going on as usual. They hauled him off with a tractor. I felt my husband and I and probably the owner the only one's that were horrified. I've wanted to but I just haven't had the motivation to watch them race again. I hear it's not live anymore any way
Sorry for the bad day, good to get it done tho.

The weather is nice, not as warm as yesterday, but still tee-shirtable:)
