Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
The first one is a tough call to make work from home!
I dunno..we have a big hot tub! LOL
I've tried to get them to let me tele-commute. I told them to call me if something went wrong and I'd tell them how to fix it. Sounded like a good plan to me.
Their counter offer was to let me stay home, period. I declined, needless to say.
Is this as small hint for me to fill those meat pie orders I have waiting? LOL
I'm sorry, did I make it look small?
How inflexible of them ;~D
Really. They didn't make me feel "included" or that they "valued my ideas".
Fascists. ;~D
My boss (my husband) valued me so much that when I turned my resignation in, he had a replacement by the end of my shift. When he saw that he hurt my feelings it was how important my job was and that not just anyone could do it and he wanted me to do as much training as possible before I left. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't care for corporate work and am also trying to start my own business. I figure 1-2 years and I'll be 100% home based. Can hardly wait. I'm a very hard worker but I like to set my own schedule:')
We just finished watching the most drug out movie, Man on Fire...I'm done with movies:) The last three we have watched have really not been good.

Home from work now - it sounds like you feel that she is okay, that's a relief. Please let us know what's happening.
Oh dear... I'd love to recommend a better one! What haven't you seen? ;~D
Do you see a lot of movies or not many?
I remember a post a while back about being careful about smoldering. If something was indeed smoldering, the hay would catch fire fast. And for some reason, I thought that short was very near the barn, so if there ended up being sparks,or something got hot, it could be a fire hazard. But again, I have no clue about layout. :-)
Who's in Man on Fire? It sounds familar.
I've started several businesses, with varying degrees of success. I haven't been able to break away from the factory job because I wasn't able to give up my medical benefits (my late wife was diabetic with kidney failure, and dialysis is a bit pricey if you have to pay for it out of pocket).
RoS and I are still looking for something we can do at home together, and have a couple of things we're working on. Sooner or later....
There isn't any smoldering... if there was any hint of smoldering or heat, I would have the fire dept here and an electrician, and I wouldn't be letting the horses near it.
All I have is an outlet that no longer works and some freaky horses this morning.
Yeah. That's why I've changed jobs. Insurance. The 26 days of PTO and a raise was nice too:').
We've gotten pretty gun shy lately. We watched Terminal, and Spiderman II this weekend. They were "alright" just not all they were cracked up too, IMO.
Seems if there really hyped alot, we won't enjoy them. We did watch Big Fish and liked that, but I'd never even seen advertisements for it. I can't remember the last time we went to the theater. I'm tired of paying those admission prices then being disappointed.
I think I'll stick to The 70's Show:), The Practice, Boston Legal, Becker, Everyone Loves Raymond, 24 and ER. Mack likes Desperate Housewives too:)
I'll be glad when summers here.
Becky
Did the horses calm down after you openned the breaker?
