I'll let you all know anything as soon as i can!
My workshop? You mean you're not bringing her into the kitchen? I guess I'm lucky...
Oh, now I hadn't thought of that.......hot chocolate would be right on hand of I did! LOL
gotta go and quietly check as she is laying down on all that straw I put out...........brb
Hi there ecurbh!
I'm just catching up on the thread and saw this post about your tagline. I think that is SUCH a sweet thing to do and you deserve a compliment for it. I believe no good deed should go uncomplimented. Nobody else said anything about it so I'm going to! And it's also nice that you're feeding the horses so Hair can sleep in. She's a lucky lady, but then you're lucky to have her too! :o)
I think it's great that your Dad likes horses and wants to take up riding with you. It's something that'll make you closer. Has he ever ridden before?
Just got a look at your snow pictures. I'm JEALOUS! We haven't had any yet. Thanks for posting them.
she got back up as soon as she heard the door closing. Everything still ok. Its still not bad outside 49
Evening everyone! We got the office all rearranged and computers hooked back up. I like it this way.
I see we're on baby watch again tonight... Hope everything goes smoothly!
Thank you so much! He's a purdy good guy!
~smiles~
I think I read somewhere that horses were one of the few animals that could consciously delay birth until they were in a safe environment. The fact that they allow humans to be there at all says alot about how much they trust us. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the best for you all!
Appreciated, yes it is nerve racking, if I see her down again, i shall go out the side entrance and around to the workshop which is next to her field.
I have helped birth many lambs, and am confident with them, but Adge was the first foal I have seen born and Sugars will be the second. I am so scared that if things dont go smoothly, I wont know what to do, and the vet wont get here on time. Horses are so big, and like I have said b4, I was terrified of them up till about a year ago when I made myself get on one. (it was Misty and she must have felt me quaking in my boots!). James wont be here till midnight and I just want Sugar to be ok. (james has a lot more knowledge and experience with horses.)
Yes, he is!
Changing the subject...I actually got to ride BOTH days this weekend! And that NEVER happens for me. And the weather actually cooperated to boot. Well, it was a little cold. It was 32 yesterday morning when we rode out but it warmed up into the 40's by late afternoon. This morning it was about 28 and was only 36 when I got home. But I enjoyed the heck out of it and took lots of pictures. I'll post 'em tomorrow when I get to work. I have a piece of crap for a computer at home and the little card reader won't work on it.
I look forward to seeing the photos!
I'll bet she doesn't have it until after he gets home. Most all the births I've ever heard about were in the wee hours of the morning.
Well gals, I'm outta here 'til tomorrow. My sweetie just got home from work and he's tired and crabby so I guess I'll go get him something to eat so he can go to bed. Seeya!
I think you rearrange furniture as often as I do:)
