Teriible twos Cody

Actually he doesn't try those tricks often with his Granny because she puts him in the corner. Most of the time he's a cutie pie. You just have to constantly watch him.

A gorgeous interior - it must be like stepping out of the world to get home to that :)

Hi and welcome. Yes, the farm land is seriously depleted in much of the country. Even letting them lay fallow won't help at this point.

Every day it seems that farmers around here are selling their land in tracts. If this is all over the country, what's going to happen to our food supply? Are we going to get that from China, too?

They did! My bit I ordered wasn't in yet, but the saddle was done. I had rings added to the back and side of my english saddle, so I can tie regular saddle bags or even my jacket to the saddle.

I did this with my old Stubben too a long time ago, but hadn't gotten around to doing it on my new saddle. Someone really ought to make an English trail saddle :~D

At the rate things are going, yes. Although big coorporations are taking over farming now - but nothing is natural or healthy anymore with them.

He was so excited when he saw his picture but he thinks it is his brother. I was looking thru my garden catalog trying to decide what I want to plant this year. Is it true that you can't save seeds from certain plants because they have been altered not to reproduce?

Would you think that someone buying an English Saddle would use the same size as their western?

I'm stumped... I don't know how the measurements compare... You'd have to sit in some!

I looked at them yesterday while I was in Pet Smart. I'd really like to get one.

No, english saddles are measured entirely different. I'm not exactly sure, but I thnk you measure from the front rivit to the top of the back of the cantle. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Where are the measurements for an English Saddle taken from? On a western it's from the inside of the swells, to the inside of the cantle. Are English saddles considered to have swells?

Would that be from that gold "button" at the front of Hair's saddle?

Nice looking saddle Hair! Looks like you've got plenty of rings now.

Ortho Flex makes several english type trail saddles. Mine has the 4 Ds on the back like you've got, plus the two more footman's loops mounted on the back of the cantle, another D for the crupper and two on the front for the breast collar.

A lot of the hybrids won't reproduce. I've been told none will but I know that's not right since I've had tomatoes grow from a compost heap. It's probably not the same as the hybrid when they do that though.

If you can find some old fashioned vegetable seeds (and a lot of catalogs have them) get though and plant them.

Yeah, I think so. I didn't have to figure that one out coz at the time I bought mine, all Ortho Flex saddles were custom. You gave them your weight, hip, thigh and inseam measurements and the saddle was made to fit you, plus or minus 40 lbs. I've had it since '93 and I really like it.

I have a friend whose husband is a wheat farmer in Ks.. I remember being surprised and outraged:) that it was aganist the law for them to buy/produce wheat that would reproduce itself. Every year they have to buy the seeds for their fields.

I don't even remember what mine is. I'd sit in some, so you know the size of the one that fits right.

Can someone tell me what to do about a horse that is constantly in my face while I'm grooming him , walking him etc. I made the mistake of feeding him treats by hand and now all he does is look for them. He pays no attention when I smack him to move away from me. Any ideas?
