LOL...

You're right. I really don't want to sell him. His "attitude" is perfect for me to learn barrels on. Not real inclined to "go", but will go with a little prodding.

If you go by Martha Josey's techniques I'm doing barrels properly, I just have to get use to speed. Becky

I missed that show when you said it was on, I couldn't even find a channel like that in our setup.

Oh, I think you were speaking of Harley...

Well, yes and no on him. He would make a wonderful competitive trail horse, if I can get him to stand tied to a trailer. He'd make a great barrel horse to, just not for a "beginner" barrel runner. I can train him, and should be able to get "use" to his willingness to "go", but I'm afraid if I tried running him at the start, and always asking him to slow down, I'd train his "willingness" to go so easy out of him, and that wouldn't be good for a barrel horse. Harley is very very controlable, not a runaway, but he doesn't mind moving. I don't want him to lose that.

I was speaking of Harley.... It could be that you 'need' them both to do all the things you want to do ;~D

My back is better, but not right yet. I was able to get on the tractor yesterday and mow down the briars that had grown up where I'm going to build the barn. Went ahead and clean up the field that Lightning is in while I was at it. I don't think I'm ready to start building yet. I can't risk having to miss work again. I was out for two weeks because of it last summer, and I can't take that chance again.

The baby's fine. He's eating hay and M&F feed now. He loves the new field because he's got room to run. Sugar is doing well too, but hasn't bagged up yet. Wish I had paid more attention this time last year, I would have a better idea when to expect her to pop.

We have dish TV. We can record up to 100 hours and save or delete as we want. Been the best thing we've had as far as TV watching. We record what we want to, then watch it later so we can fast forward thru commercials. We very seldom watch live TV anymore.

I'm sorry you missed it too. I think you would have been impressed with this ladies techniques. I have it saved, and will save it thru the summer:)

It sounds good to use Rusty for you to learn barrels on. You won't be the fastest on the first horse you train, and he sounds well suited to teach you.

That's kind of the way I'm leaning:) It will mostly depend on how much I get to ride. I don't like having horses that don't get used much. They're too expensive. Especially considering I have a foal coming too, that will need work. And then there's Rocky too...

Sounds like good progress anyway, and glad the foal is growing up well. Working with him much? He's strong enough now to do real halter work and should be trained to lead and stand patiently with you, if not tied yet. He won't be easier when he's bigger! But your wife can do this.

.... glad you aren't getting any more snow.

You may already be doing this. But there is a company that makes support equipment for horses, that came out with a back brace for people. I have one, and use it on occasion. It really really helps and is quite comfortable.

The company is Professional Choice. I'll see if they have a web sit.

It is a lot of horses! But you, better than anyone, can use them all! You at least feel compelled to ride, not just look at them out the window like I do so often :~D

Well more and more, I'm locked up on my price for him. I know it's very high, but that's what it will take for me to be inclined to sell him. Right now I wouldn't budge off that, and the more he does, especially if he is as good at trails as I think he could be, it will probably go up:)

You have a typo in your example "scr" instead of SRC. That could be what's wrong. Did you load the picture to a website? Which one?

I can see your coding and it says "< IMG src="waylon.jpeg" > "

That doesn't work, the picture can't be on your computer, it has to be loaded to a website. Once you load them to a website, you right click the picture and view it's properties, select the property address URL, and copy ~that~ between the quotes.

If you don't already have an online album, I'd recommend
http://www.snapfish.com/

It's free for awhile, and to keep it, you only need to order some prints or something once a year.

Waylon is a coming 4 yr. old Rocky Mountain and he is so sweet, I can't wait to take him to our cabin this summer.
