No I'm not. I saying that to demonstrate that he is unique and is comparable to the great quarterbacks I mentioned.
I didn't call FT a loser; I said he didn't rank up there with the great QBs
Wow, I am not a Vike fan, being a huge Bear fan, but I don't think that I would be so quick to say that. FT was a great great talent. I was able to see many of his games as he played in the Bears' division. I am not sure how he compares, but I wouldn't say that he didn't rank with the great QB's. He did some incredible things to get the Vikes to succeed.
I noticed you didn't respond to my Danny White reference
I didn't respond to the Danny White reference, because it seemed unnecessary at that time, but since you insist, I am not considering him as he did not seem to be the extraordinary talent that these other quarterbacks were. Could White have survived behind the porous Packer line and take the pounding that Farve did? He put up those numbers because he had the people to If you inserted Farve behind his line and gave him Pearson to throw to, what might have been?
I think you're overstating the lack of quality of the Packers' line. GB has been a playoff team most years since Farve has been there, and they didn't get there by having OLinemen that couldn't block at all. If you look at the post 1980 Cowboys' line, you will see a LOT of older players, and young players who weren't very good. The Cowboys essentially did not have a good draft between Tony Dorsett and Troy Aikman. That's 13 years or so.
My point is that if you don't think Danny White gets to the level of a Marino or Fouts, then there's NO WAY you can take Farve up to the level of a Unitas or Staubach. No way under the sun. At some point you have to consider championships for QBs. Maybe not for kickers, or linebackers, but for sure for QBs.
