A springer spaniel ate my house! No kidding! He was so spoiled I even had a kiddie wading pool full of water on the deck for him to dip into on a hot day, but he still insisted he liked the rungs on my Duncan Phyfe chairs, and even the woodwork, let along the wicker porch furniture. I even tried spraying everything with tabasco sauce, but he even liked that! Then he started in on the siding. I don't have that springer spaniel anymore.

Were you leaving him alone? Springers do not like
to be by themselves. They have a love for humans
that I have never seen in any other breed.
