Mr. Prairie said he heard the wave was 100 ft high at somewhere, but I haven't seen or heard anything to corroborate that. Chilling first hand accounts from the BBC HERE.

Loddy,

The first reports of the earthquake from the U.S. gov Seismological survey group indicated there would be no Tsunamis due to historical patterns from earthquakes in the area.

Man were they wrong, and that might be the basis for some of the bitter accusations that the Tsunami warnings were not issued.

IMHO.
