That has to be a yth, Catholicism may have stopped being the state church in England once the Church of England came about, but St Paul's cathedral is older than the 1800's.
I like most carols but this one drives me off the deep end....boring, terrible music and stupid lyrics....can't wait for the tune to end.
It's ironic that the fighting between two denominations a few hundred years ago would produce a song agreeable to all Christians today.
