OK - this is one cheater thing that might work.

White bathroom caulk in a tube, buy the caulk gun too, would probably be flexible enough to last a few months without cracking. Put it on and then smooth most of it off with a wet cloth, do it more 'coats', not just thicker, if it doesn't cover in one application.

Ok, here are the pictures from when we picked up the Beetle yesterday...

Here it is in the field, getting ready to be pulled to the trailer...you can just make out Steve in the seat steering...

Now it's home, in our shop driveway. My ramps were in the "still thinking about it" phase here.

Almost out...note my ramps are in good position and nailed together. Also note, it got DARK in the time it took us to work on getting this thing out of the back of that trailer!
