The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I was planning on using the garden hose and a sprayer....or maybe I should just go real early in the morning.

I don't much have to worry about that. My brothers never call.

Good morning!

I woke up to a call from my little sister saying "Garbage needs to be taken to the dump, and Dad and Margaret are both working". I said something along the lines of "Oh, that's interesting." Now I feel like a crook.

I probably will head out there anyway. But geesh...it's things like this I will NOT miss.

After that, I'm going on a Wal-mart run to stock up on cleaning supplies...and then the Great Decrapping of Our Time begins anew.

Because he wasn't really going? Or 'cause he actually knew the way?

Good morning everyone!

Great pics! I especially like the one of the dogs, eager anticipation of whatever human food they are about to get. As my vet says "They're not hungry, they're just playing you."

I need to stop surfing and start decrapping along with everybody else.

Yep. Trust me on this.

When I moved from my previous apartment to this house, I didn't have time to sort anything, and I didn't bother. I have crap in a bundance...

"Decrapping".....has Dwarvish overtones. "Flylady-ing" is much more genteel.

I've been trying to convince my husband that we should be de-crapping and rearranging the living room. "everybody's doin' it!"

Ya know, the cat fur really stands out when you've got no carpet.
