BUMP
ring ping
Wow, someone needed to talk to medical students to figure this out. It's an easy diagnosis.
bad case of ring-rot.
I thought I might be a LOTR geek but, apparently not. I couldn't care less what a bunch of aspiring shrinks have to say about a fictional character.
At any rate, the family and I are probably going to sit down and watch ROTK, the extended version, tonight. :-)
I guess Sauron's parents didn't love him very much and he's simply mad with folks /sarcasm
How did you ever find a Reuters article that wasn't a Bush or US hit piece?
And here I thought he suffered from a case of the common "sin condition."
I liked the extended much better, however I was very disappointed they didn't show the wedding or Aragorn and Arwen even though there were photos on the internet of it, and it was in the book.
sounds like some folks have too much free time. wonder if they got college credit for this BS.
Somehow these guys missed entirely the importance of the RING IN THIS STORY!!! Or did they think the name of the story was the Lord of the Schizophrenics.
I don't *think* they were considering outside effects. I think this was a tool for them to try and diagnose based on symptoms alone. I think it was a good application of what they are learning.

Anyone wishing to be added to or removed from the Ring-Ping list, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Something specifically spoiling the extended version? Thanks. It'll be interesting to come back here and read it after I've seen it. (I decoded it only as far as "however" before I stopped. ;O)
Fits Western culture to a "T": Reduce the larger story to a tale that's only about the individual.
Maybe they can work on diagnosing XXX-42.
Well it doesnt spoil it (make it bad) but it gives away a part of the movie which you might not want to know until after you've watched it. But overall I was real happy with the extended version additions. And two new eggs.
His all-consuming passion for The Ring drove him mad, of course.
